size.” All ads must conform to these dimensions.
In the event that an ad does not, it will be reduced
or enlarged to fit the designated space at advertisers’ expense.

Ad Specifications (File Format)

HM&T accepts 3 File formats. We WILL NOT accept other file formats.


1. Press Ready PDF



  • File CANNOT use transparency
    (if your file uses transparency, please see EPS below)
  • All images must be 300 dpi CMYK or Grayscale
  • All colors must be 4 color CMYK
  • File MUST HAVE a MINIMUM of 1/8 inches BLEED on all 4 sides
  • Save as file type PDF
  • Compatibility = Acrobat 4.0 or Higher
  • All compression for images should be at 300 dpi
  • You should have CROP MARKS offset 1/4 inches
    (DO NOT USE Bleed Marks)
  • PDF must use BLEED (1/8 inches on all 4 sides)
  • EMBED ALL FONTS


2. Press Ready TIFF



  • All images must be 300 dpi CMYK or Gray scale
  • All colors must be 4 color CMYK
  • File MUST HAVE a MINIMUM of 1/8 inches BLEED on all 4 sides
  • Save as file type TIFF
  • Image compression = NONE
  • Save as file type TIFF


3. Press Ready EPS



  • All must be 300 dpi CMYK or Gray scale
  • All colors must be 4 color CMYK
  • File MUST HAVE a MINIMUM of 1/8 inches BLEED on all 4 sides
  • Save as file type EPS
  • Post Script: Level 2
  • Color: CMYK
  • Preview: TIFF
  • Data Format: ASCI I or Binary
  • EPS must use BLEED (1/8 inches on all 4 sides)
  • EMBED ALL FONTS

  • Do NOT send JPEG or GIF files, DO NOT send files in RGB
  • All ads should include a printout of the contents of each disk supplied
  • All ads created in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Publisher, Power Point, or any other word processing program WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED
  • All ads submitted should be suitable to print as is. HM&T is NOT responsible for any errors in content
  • If files are prepared improperly and mechanical requirements are not met, HM&T will not guarantee the reproduction of the ad and additional production charges to the advertiser may result.


ACCEPTABLE PROOFS:



Black and white ads: Velow or Laser (2
sets)

Color Ads: Cromalins, Match Prints,
Press Proof, Kodak Approvals, CREO Spectrum or Iris
Digital Proofs for color guidance on press (2 sets)



  • All supplied color guidance must meet all SWOP specifications with 5%, 25%, 50%, 75%, 95%, and 100% CMYK control Patches
  • Proofs must be provided at 100%% size with crop marks
  • Color laser/inkjet proofs are unacceptable for color guidance
